Dear Diary,

It is high time to choose a sport discipline that will help me to keep fit and healthy. The problem is that I am not really keen on any particular disciplines but I would like to find myself a place in the world of sport. And so I have been thinking of various sport activities.

Take swimming for example. I like warm water in the lake. Swimming seems a nice, not tiring activity. It makes you strong and slim very fast. I have got flippers so I could use them to do some fast swimming too. I might also try some free diving as I have snorkel and goggles. It could be fun. But on the other hand, you always have wet hair after leaving the swimming pool. I do not want to spend too much time drying them so in winter it may end up in the bed with cold!

I have been always dreaming of skating. Although I have never tried it, my friend Anna says that it is not difficult. You just have to catch the rhythm. It sounds good, especially that there is a skating rink in the park near my school. Judging by all those beautifully moving figure skaters, I would like to skate and look as agile as them. On the contrary, I do not want to make a fool of myself in front of my school. After all, I will have to learn a new activity so I do not want to be looked at.

What about tennis? It seems very sophisticated and upper class. I can imagine myself dressed up in white and waving the tennis racket, full of grace, defeating all the opponents. Although it is a totally new activity for me, as well as skating, I am almost sure that it is easier that the latter one. The only but important problem is money.

It would not be sensible to buy the cheapest tennis racket, as it may break during first lesson. But a good one will cost me a fortune, as well as tennis lessons. Maybe I should wait for tennis when I earn my own money?

One thought has just crossed my mind. There is a brand new fitness and wellness gym near my house, opened just a month ago! Perhaps I should try their classes. I have found out that they have different aerobic and belly dance lessons and the gym of course. However I can not imagine myself riding a stationary bike and staring at the mirror at the same time or hopping along the rhythms with a bunch of older and fat middle aged women. Why don’t I take my bike simply and ride every day in the park? It does not cost anything and will keep me in shape and good condition? It is a great idea, but not in winter.

I know, horse riding! It is difficult and body challenging. It makes your legs and spine stronger. What’s more, you are relaxed and kind to people thanks to the contact with animals. You can do it during the whole year, even in winter. Maybe it is not the cheapest way of sport discipline but definitely one of the most attractive. Decision’s made! What a relief!

And there is one more activity that has just come to my head. I have completely forgotten about yoga! A discipline done by Madonna, it purifies your body and soul. So I am going to do horse riding on Saturdays and yoga on Mondays, great beginning and the end of the week.
Hurrah!
