Matura tip (Wskazówka maturalna do zadań typu true/false)

  • Teraz przeczytaj każde zdanie i dopasuj do niego odpowiedni fragment w tekście.

How to bite the Big Apple

New York is regarded as one of the most fascinating cities in the world. It is both the most beloved and the most hated metropolis with its ethnic variety and language diversity. The Statue of Liberty, The Bronx, Manhattan or Ground Zero have become as well icons as symbols of the contemporary world. Have you ever dreamt of seeing the Big Apple yourself? It is possible! But – how to do it?

  • Look for any information concerning the scholarships, student exchanges and vocational training abroad. Search the Internet and student magazines. It is usually the cheapest and easiest way to visit a foreign country, to learn the language and to find out a lot about local customs and everyday life. The only problem is that usually you must be a really good student to apply!
  • Try to save some money. The flight is not so expensive unless you choose peak season (from June to the beginning of September) and nowadays you can easily find permanent job. Seek the job of a baby-sitter (you can earn as much as 5-10 PLN per hour), waiter (wage: not less than 7 PLN per hour ) or window-cleaner. You can also offer mowing the grass to your neigbour!

Working every two weekends you will save enough money to buy the ticket of your dreams! And what about the boarding cost, parents` permission and other obstacles on your way?

As Paulo Coelho said, ”It is the opportunity of making our dreams come true that makes our life so fascinating”.
