airport
Airports are always busy in summer so I decided to be at the terminal two hours before the flight. First I had a look at the flight schedule and I went to the departure hall to find the check-in desk. I placed a luggage label on my suitcase and gave it to the lady at the desk. She gave me a boarding card with the number of the gate. Then I waited 30 minutes in the departure lounge. The flight took 8 hours and we landed in New York at 9 a.m. I went to the baggage reclaim point and I easily found my suitcase on the carousel. I quickly passed passport control but I had to queue to customs. Luckily, I had nothing to declare so it did not take much time.

flight
I hate travelling by plane and I cannot stop thinking about the dangers connected with it. The news about technical problems, emergency landings, plane crashes and hijacking terrify me. I know that safety regulations are very strict and everybody has to go through security checks but I always listen carefully to a flight attendant explain emergency procedure. I suffer from air sickness not only at the moment of take-off but also during the flight, especially when there are turbulences and everybody has to have the seatbelts fastened for hours. I hate chartered flights as they are often delayed or cancelled. I prefer scheduled flights because they are more reliable.

on the plane
I often go on holidays by plane. I always choose economy class as it is much cheaper than business class. I find window seats more comfortable than the aisle ones. I like British Airlines because flight attendants are friendly and really professional. They always show how to fasten the safety belt and where lifejackets and emergency exits are.
