Przykładowy opis ilustracji
In the picture we can see a part of the classroom: a white board, a teacher, some papers stuck next to the board and many children raising their hands. I cannot see very well as the pupils` hands are in the foreground but I think the woman is writing some numbers on the board. The walls in the classroom are painted in green and there are some photos to the right of the board. We can see some desks made of light wood, probably pine, and copybooks lying on them. There are not many children in the classroom and the desks are close to each other – it makes me think these are additional classes for the pupils who have learning problems.
The teacher is standing in front of the board, smiling, with some chalk in her hand. She is waiting for the boy in the first desk to sum up two numbers she had written. The teacher has got quite short, fair hair and white clothes – a long – sleeved blouse and greyish, canvas trousers.
The boy in the first desk, wearing red T-shirt, is standing. I can see only his back. He’s not very slim and it makes him look heavy. He is leaning on the desk.
I can see three other pupils raising their hands. The black girl on the left wearing pinkish blouse, is even raising her copybook.
I suppose the teacher’s question was not very difficult as so many pupils know the answer.

I think it’s Mathematics because the woman is writing some numbers on the board. The children are learning how to add simple digits. There are not many children in the classroom and the desks are close to each other – it makes me think these are additional classes for the pupils who have learning problems. I suppose it is a revision lesson as there are so many children who know proper answer to the teacher’s questions – everybody is raising their hands!

I am sure there are too many students in classes nowadays. There are schools, even primary ones, where are as much as thirty – five students in one class. It is very difficult to concentrate in such a big group. Children with learning problems have got the most complicated situation in such schools – they need individual treatment and more teacher’s care and it is impossible to provide them with it. Therefore many of them leave schools earlier or repeat classes year by year – unfortunately, it doesn’t not help most of them much. In my opinion none class should be bigger than twenty – five people – then everybody could easily follow the lesson, take notes and remember much more than at presence.

In my opinion smaller classes are not necessary. I have impression that many people who postulate fewer pupils in school classrooms are looking for justification of their school problems and the reasons for these troubles are: idleness of the people or lack of willingness to learn. I believe that people who want to gain knowledge are able to concentrate in all conditions. The solutions for those who find crowded classes an obstacle to learn are extra classes after school. They are mostly paid but it is also possible to find interesting lessons in the afternoon at school and they are completely free then – everybody who is willing to learn more can participate.
