Are you dreaming about being a student? There are a few myths we are going to deconstruct here…

1.
Myth: At school you have lots of subjects that you hate, but at university you will finally study only what you are interested in.
Truth: Even if you choose the faculty, you don’t choose all the subjects. You have to learn logic on English philology and lots of schools will make you learn statistics, which is worse than maths!

2.
Myth: At university you can learn in the way you like: nobody controls you.
Truth: Nobody controls you and nobody helps you. Sometimes you have to visit five or six libraries to get a book that you need.

3.
Myth: Students are free people and they spend time mostly in pubs.
Truth: Well, it is true that students’ life is definitely pubs and clubs. But it does not mean you are free. If you overslept or didn’t prepare for the class, you will simply have to make up for it.

4.
Myth: Students have long holidays.
Truth: This is true if you are a good student. You get all your credits in June and you return to school in October. If you are not so good, you get your last credits at the beginning of July and you return at the beginning of September to retake exams.

5. Myth: At university you can make friends with lots of interesting people.
Truth: Of course, you can, but some faculties are so big that even if you meet someone you’d like to be friends with, you never meet him or her again.
