Zadanie maturalne

Do we still need the norms of society?

Watching carefully public life one may get the impression that most norms of society have lost importance recently. 1.1………………………………………………. But, on the other hand, there are still many rules that every cultural man should be acquainted with not only on the public stage.

The crucial rule of modern etiquette is treating all
people with respect whatever their age, origin or social status is. 1.2………………………………………..

“I am doing my best to treat everybody with warmth”, explains Monica, 20, veterinary student from Essex, I used to wear scruffy clothes on official occasions when I was at school. 1.3……………………………………………. They feel insulted if you do not obey the rules.

Some people also do not pay attention to the way they speak:
“My ex-girlfriend, I am sorry to mention it, used a lot of dirty language”, says Bo, unemployed from Cork, Ireland, even at presence of my parents she used to swear like a trooper. That was terrible! Moreover, when she contributed to the conversation, she used to dominate it. 1.4………………………………………….

Many people are not fully convinced that the way people interact with each other should be restricted. 1.5………………………………………. Only then the people may be the actors on the public stage, not only the spectators.

A. Now I know wearing suitable clothes is very important for some people, especially elderly ones.
B. My parents found her very conceited!
C. However, they also should obey some general rules, e.g. refrain from insulting the others or mentioning touchy subjects in conversations as well as avoid being late when invited.
D. Perhaps, though it is sad, to some extent it has happened.
E. I am not sure if obeying such rules means so much for them.
F. It means different things for different people:

Matura tip (Wskazówka maturalna)

Rozwiązując tego typu zadanie, zwracaj uwagę na konstrukcję zdania przed zdaniem i po zdaniu, które masz wstawić. Szczególnie pomocne będą zaimki (it, them itd. – sprawdź, do czego mogą się odnosić) i łączniki (however, moreover itd.).
Uwaga! Nigdy nie sugeruj się długością pustych miejsc.

Rozwiązanie i omówienie

Jedyne zdanie zakończone dwukropkiem, czyli wprowadzające cytat, to właśnie zdanie F. Pomocne znowu jest it.

1.3 – A. Tu podpowiedzią jest now jako opozycja do poprzedniego zdania (I used to – czyli kiedyś). Na dodatek temat jest ten sam, co w całej wypowiedzi: ubrania.
1.4 – B. To proste zdanie. Pomaga zwłaszcza zaimek her – ją (odnosi się do dziewczyny, którą opisuje Bo).

1.5 – C. Istotne tu są dwa słowa – however, czyli jakkolwiek (jakkolwiek by myśleli ludzie wymienieni w poprzednim zdaniu, to…) oraz they (odnosi się właśnie do ludzi już wymienionych). Warto też przeczytać ostatnie zdanie: Only then – tylko wtedy (czyli jeśli zrobią to, co jest w zdaniu wstawionym!).

Nie pasuje zdanie E. Jest to wypowiedź jednej osoby (I am not sure), a to pasowałoby tylko do luk 1.3 albo 1.4, które zawierają wypowiedzi. W obu przypadkach jednak to uzupełnienie nie miałoby sensu.
