Przykładowy opis ilustracji
In the picture we can see a scene from a bookfair. We can see a big stand with an exhibition books from one publishing house. There are lots of books on shelves and some posters on the walls. There are also books on tables in the centre of the room, with their covers easily visible. The books are for children because the covers are colourful and there are vivid illustrations, too. Lots of books are about animals: there are pictures of elephants, ladybirds and pandas. There are visitors, too: some children looking at the books with interest. They might come from one school or class because they are all wearing blue T-shirts.

Przykładowe odpowiedzi na pytania egzaminatora
1. Obviously children are interested in the books on the fair. The books are really colourful and they must contain lots of interesting facts and information. They contain not only illustrations but also real photos which attract the children’s attention. Small children love books because they are like a passport to a different world.
2. Well, yes, I agree because now young people, even kids love computers and spend a lot of time in front of the screen, so books must become less popular. It is more difficult to read a book because it is an active process. Now children prefer watching television and browsing the Internet, which is more passive, and it is difficult for them to read a book and imagine everything. Of course it is a pity, but I hope not everybody will stop reading in the future.

I think it really depends. It depends on the personality, because still some kids simply prefer books to television or computers. But it also depends on the family and the parents’ habits. In the home full of books it is much easier to be a bookwarm. When parents are typical couch potatoes, the child is simply not used to books and reading. So if we want our children to read, we also have to do it.
