Goods
I bought a beautiful vase yesterday. It was a real bargain because it did not cost much although is a high quality Persian piece of art. It was not too expensive since it is not a famous brand. The price was so good that I decided to buy it the very moment I saw it.
I am a true shopaholic. I can spend hours looking for bargains at the flea market, discount or second hand shops. I never look at luxury goods and designer labels as I do not like being ripped off. I prefer self-service rather than waiting for a shop assistant at the counter. I always try clothes on and check price tags so that nobody could overcharge me. I sometimes have a look at shop-soiled goods and special offers.

In the shopping centre
I love wandering around the shopping centre. I can spend hours visiting various sections such as kitchenware, crockery, china and glassware. I hardly ever buy anything as I prefer window shopping. The only goods I buy regularly are books and stationery. I like checking if there is anything in sections with sports equipment, home utensils and household appliances.

Clothes & shoes
My best friend says I should wear more fashionable clothes. In her opinion my dresses, skirts and trousers are so old-fashioned and worn-out that I had better give them away. She wants to go to the shopping centre with me and help me choose new jumpers, blouses and T-shirts. She believes I do not look good in flowery, checked or spotted clothes and I have to think about something plain. She also advised me to wear trainers or moccasins rather than high-heeled shoes. The only things she is able to accept are my denim jacket and a black suit.

I am going on a week holiday so it is high time I started packing. I hate it because I have to take clothes for all kinds of weather. I should take a swimsuit, sandals, a lot of T-shirts and shorts. However, I cannot forget about a raincoat, warm sweater and wellington boots in case it is cold and rainy. I will also need a sufficient number of socks, underwear and pyjamas.

Jewellery
It is my girlfriend’s birthday today so I am going to give her some jewellery. I know it will not be easy to find something suitable but I will do my best. I cannot buy a ring as she would have to try it on. I am thinking about silver earrings or a copper bracelet. I also saw a beautiful antique necklace but it was a bit too expensive. They also had nice brooches but Mary says they are good for old ladies.

Fabrics
I had an argument with my mum yesterday. She bought a leather jacket for me although she knows I never wear leather, suede or fur clothes. She said I exaggerate and I cannot wear only wool, cotton and linen clothes. She thinks I should also have something more elegant, for example a silk or velvet blouse.

Quantity
Tom, I haven’t had enough time to do the shopping today. Please, buy two pounds of milk, a bottle of coke, a tin of sardines and a tube of toothpaste. If you have more time, go to the supermarket and get a jar of peanut butter, a case of wine, two bags of popcorn and three cans of red paint..
