Crime
The number of kidnappings for ransom is growing in proportion to economic development and the widening disproportion in incomes. Kidnappers are usually people with a criminal record for offences such as robberies, muggings or burglaries. If a family gets instructions from a kidnapper, the police should be informed, despite the warnings not to do so.
When I was on holidays, I saw a robbery. I went to the bank and I was just about to take the money out when two armed men entered the building. The robbers told everybody to lie down on the floor. Next they made the cashier pack money into a large bag and ran away.
The next day I saw a pickpocket steal a woman’s purse. It lasted only a few seconds but I could see everything.

Police
The most important profession for the public safety is the one of the police. It is a hard and dangerous job as the policemen have to deal with criminals. They interrogate witnesses, conduct investigations and detain suspects.

the court of law
There are a lot of films based on famous court cases. The main characters are a judge, a counsel of defence, a prosecutor and an accused person. It is interesting to watch witnesses giving testimony, lawyers presenting the evidence and the jury discussing the verdict. In the Twelve Angry Men the accused man pleaded innocent but nobody believed him. He was supposed to be sentenced to death but finally his innocence was proved and everything ended in acquittal.
