1. You have to buy a present for your boyfriend. What would you buy?

2. You have „a present day” at school and you ought to buy something for somebody you don’t know well. What do you do?
(Masz „dzień prezentów” w szkole i powinieneś kupić coś dla osoby, której dobrze nie znasz. Co robisz?)
a) I don’t take a part in such events as „a present day” or „a teacher day”. I’m not interested in these.

b) I go to a shop with funny things (or something connected with feng shui) and I buy something that may bring luck to that person.

c) I buy something in a supermarket and the rest of the money I’ve got for myself.

3. What present is the best for a very special occasion for a 2-year-old child?
(Jaki prezent jest najlepszy na specjalną okazję dla dwulatka?)
a) Maybe a lollipop or something like that.
(Może lizak albo coś takiego.)
b) Something that may be used also when the baby is 20 or 40. A golden or silver chain – for the future of course.
(Coś co może być używane także kiedy dziecko będzie miało 20 czy 40 lat. Złoty czy srebrny łańcuszek – na przyszłość, oczywiście.)
c) Something cheap for sure. If it breaks a present than there’s nothing to worry.
(Na pewno coś taniego. Jeśli dziecko zepsuje prezent, nie będzie się czym martwić.)
4. Think of your parents. What’s the best present for them?
(Pomyśl o swoich rodzicach. Jaki prezent jest dla nich najlepszy?)
a) Something that they may use together. A book or a CD with their favourite music.
(Coś, czego mogą używać razem. Książka czy CD z ich ulubioną muzyką.)
b) My dad and my mum like different things so I’d give them two separate presents connected with their hobbies and interests.
(Mój tata i moja mama lubią inne rzeczy, więc dałabym im dwa oddzielne prezenty, powiązane z ich hobby lub zainteresowaniami.)
c) Something self-made would be the best! I’d make something by myself.
(Coś zrobione własnoręcznie byłoby najlepsze! Zrobiłabym coś sama.)
5. Imagine your boyfriend gave you a book. Unfortunately you have the same one at home. What’s your reaction?
(Wyobraź sobie, że Twój chłopak dał Ci książkę. Niestety, masz taką, samą w domu. Jaka byłaby Twoja reakcja?)
a) I’d tell him that I have such book so maybe next time he will ask me what I need.

b) I’m very happy because he gave me a thing that I like. It really doesn’t matter that I have one.
(Jestem szczęśliwa, bo dał mi rzecz, która mi się podoba. Naprawdę nieważne jest to, że już taką mam.)
c) I’m not satisfied but I take it without saying that it’s my second book. I can give it as a present to some other person.
(Nie jestem zadowolona, ale biorę to bez mówienia, że to moja druga taka książka. Mogę ją dać w prezencie komuś innemu.)
6. When you get a present what do you do?
(Kiedy dostajesz prezent, co robisz?)
a) I open it when I know that it may be something good for me. If I’m not sure what’s inside, I don’t open it in a hurry.
(Otwieram go, jeśli wiem, że to może być coś dobrego dla mnie. Jeżeli nie jestem pewien, co jest w środku, nie otwieram w pośpiechu.)
b) I open it very quickly because I love getting present and every present is exciting for me!
(Otwieram bardzo szybko, bo lubię dostawać prezenty i każdy prezent jest dla mnie ekscytujący!)
c) I open it but I’m afraid that somebody may see my disappointment.
(Otwieram, ale boję się, że ktoś zobaczy moje rozczarowanie.)
7. You get a big parcel by post (with no return-address). What do you do?
(Dostajesz dużą paczkę pocztą (bez adresu zwrotnego). Co robisz?)
a) I take it straight to the post-office without opennig it.
(Zanoszę ją prosto na pocztę, bez otwierania.)
b) I will open it. Than I wonder all the time who sent it?
(Otworzę ją. Potem przez cały czas zastanawiam się, kto ją przysłał?)
c) I will open just to see what’s inside.
(Otworzę ją, żeby zobaczyć, co jest w środku.)
Most of a) answers
You rather don’t like buying things or visiting shops only because somebody, not you, has a birthday. If you buy a present, it’s nothing extremely special. You make rather practical presents. If someone decides to give you a present, he may be very unhappy. You don’t love surprises because you don’t want to get any useless things.
In life you’re the same – you know what you want, and you get it. You can do many things only if you have profits. If you don’t like something, you say it straight. That’s why you don’t have a lot of real friends.
(Raczej nie lubisz kupować różnych rzeczy albo odwiedzać sklepów tylko dlatego, że ktoś, nie Ty, ma urodziny. Jeżeli kupujesz prezent, to nie jest to nic nadzwyczajnego. Robisz prezenty raczej praktyczne. Jeżeli ktoś zdecyduje się dać Ci prezent, będzie nieszczęśliwy. Nie lubisz niespodzianek, bo nie chcesz dostać niepotrzebnej rzeczy.
W życiu jesteś taki sam – wiesz, czego chcesz i to dostajesz. Możesz robić wiele rzeczy, ale tylko wtedy, gdy masz z tego korzyści. Jeżeli coś Ci się nie podoba, mówisz to wprost. Dlatego nie masz zbyt wielu prawdziwych przyjaciół.)
Most of b) answers
You love giving and getting presents. You believe that every present is perfect for you because it means that people really like you. It doesn’t matter for you how much was the present – the most important thing is that somebody wanted you to be happy. You also love giving presents. You always look for things that are interesting for person who’s going to get the present.
In your life you’re the same. You always believe that people give something and they don’t want anything for that. You are very nice and many people love you.
Lubisz dawać i dostawać prezenty. Wierzysz, że każdy prezent jest idealny dla Ciebie, bo to znaczy, że ludzie naprawdę Cię lubią. Nie liczy się dla Ciebie, ile prezent kosztował – najważniejsze jest to, że ktoś chciał, żebyś był szczęśliwy. Dawać prezenty także lubisz. Zawsze szukasz rzeczy, które będą interesujące dla osoby, która dostanie ten prezent.
W życiu jesteś taki sam. Zawsze wierzysz, że ludzie dają coś i nie chcą niczego w zamian. Jesteś bardzo miły i wielu ludzi Cię uwielbia.)

You like buying presents but for people you know well. You don’t think that the price is the most important that’s why you always try to make something on your own. And you have a lot of interesting ideas! If you get a thing that you don’t like, you never say it. You always know what to do with things that you don’t need.
In life you have a lot of friends but you are very careful about them. You know perfectly that you can’t hurt others because they may hurt you in the future. You know what you want and you know how to get it but you’re always honest. You’re very intelligent and thanks to this you’ll be successful in your future life!
Lubisz kupować prezenty, ale dla ludzi, których dobrze znasz. Nie sądzisz, że cena jest najważniejszą rzeczą, dlatego zawsze próbujesz zrobić coś samemu. A masz wiele interesujących pomysłów! Jeżeli dostajesz rzecz, która Ci się nie podoba, nigdy tego nie mówisz. Zawsze wiesz, co zrobić z rzeczami, których nie potrzebujesz.
