One of my dreams is to visit London. I have heard so many things about the capital of Great Britain that now I am saving money to arrange a trip there. As more and more people from Poland are moving to London, I have already got friends there who say I can spend my holidays with them. First of all, I would like to see Noting Hill with Portobello Street, because the action in one of my favourite movies takes place there. I have heard a lot about original shops and cafés that are situated on Portobello and about huge market which is held every Saturday in the middle of the street. Another place I would like to visit is of course Camden Town, famous for its tattoo spots and original accessories. There are “obligatory” spots on every tourist’s map to visit in London and so they are on mine too. The most popular place of great tradition and culture, the British Museum is first in my guide. Then, there is the National Gallery on Trafalgar Square, Madame Tussaud’s and the Buckingham Palace. I am sure I will take my chance to spend some time in London’s parks, like Green Park or the Hyde Park. And the last but not least, it is remarkable opportunity to go shopping. There is no other place I’ve heard about like London, where all the shops you want to pop into are along one long street – Oxford Street. I am going to buy something from Top Shop and Body Shop, not mentioning Gap or Marks & Spencer. And if I am lucky, everything will be on sale, like always in summer!

There is only one place I would like to go to and it is Dublin. I know that now it is a very popular place and lots of people I know have gone there looking for work. But I would like to go there as a tourist and, after seeing the city, decide if I want to give it a chance or not. I have a lot of different information about Dublin. For example, that it rains there every second day and you are never sure when it starts pouring again. Another, that it is a capital of the best beer in the world and every five meters you come across new pub or club. But for me, most of all, it is a town of James Joyce and that is the reason I want to see this place. There are a lot of big parks and rivers and people are friendly as long as you speak their language, more or less. I am going to visit this city with a book by Joyce in my hand. This way I will learn about most important places, I will see things I should see, without wasting my time for obvious attractions. And not far from Dublin, there are green hills and beautiful but tough nature. If I like it this way, I may move to Dublin one day.

The reason I want to see New York is, for me, absolutely obvious: jazz, shops and “Sex and the city”! First of all, as a great fan of jazz, I would like to spend some time in most famous jazz clubs in the world, where such singers like Norah Jones perform. This is the atmosphere I would like to feel. And the place where I am going to spend most of my time is Manhattan, of course. The heart of the city, and the most frequently filmed spot in the world. I would like to visit New York in January, as there are the biggest sales in the shops. And all the brands I can now see only in movies or commercials would become available for me. I am aware of the fact that I may not afford most of the things, but I am not coming back home without something from Prada, Marc Jacobs or DKNY! One of the reasons why I want to go to the “Big Apple” is that I am a big fan of the TV series, “Sex and the city”. That is why I am going to write down the names of all the places my favourite characters drink coffee or eat their brunch in the movie and … take some pictures! And if I meet somebody famous doing shopping in the same place as me, I will be the happiest person in the world!

Although Sydney is about 24 hours away from Poland by plane, I am going to go there as soon as I finish school!
I have made my decision judging by two facts I have learn about this place. One of them is that residents of Sydney have 2050 hours of sun per year. The other is that this is a “capital of surfing”. First fact is more important for me, as I hate winters, cold, pouring rain and freezing temperatures. I was born in summer and I want to live in a place where there is always warm and sunny. In my opinion weather affects us and our behaviour. That is why in Poland we are more often stressed and we easily get angry. In Sydney people are relaxed, there is no reason for rush and everybody smiles at you in the street. I am also very keen on surfing and there are not many places at our Polish sea side to practice this sport. And in Sydney there are real waves, water is warm and it must be a real pleasure to surf in the morning with others, as hooked on this sport, as you.

I would probably never thought about traveling to New Delhi, but my uncle has been living there for a while and he has just invited me to his place. I do not know much about this city but what I am really interested in Bollywood cinema. The film industry there produces thousands of movies a year. And all the Bollywood stars live in New Delhi so I hope I will have a chance to come across some of them or see how they shoot a movie. I have heard that an average film does not last two hours but five, six or even seven hours. And their films are full of emotions, so people laugh or cry aloud while watching them. Of course,
I would like to see their “saint cows”, and my uncle promised to show me them and the villages where life is completely different from the city. I wonder if there still is a division into few “classes” like it used to be. India is such an interesting country and because I do not know much about it I hope it will be fascinating experience for me.
